Epic Games Disables Wall Kicks and Roll Landings in Fortnite’s Official Modes

Epic Games has officially disabled Wall Kicks and Roll Landings in all of Fortnite’s official modes developed by the company. This decision follows the launch of Fortnite’s latest limited-time season, Galactic Battle, which marks the game’s most ambitious crossover with the Star Wars franchise to date.

Galactic Battle Brings Lightsabers and Starfighters

The Galactic Battle mini-season has reintroduced lightsabers as part of the ongoing collaboration, giving players another chance to wield the iconic weapons. But that’s not all—players can now also pilot X-Wings and TIE Fighters, opening the skies for epic aerial dogfights. Throughout the season, fans can expect to see new character skins roll out, including Mace Windu, Darth Jar Jar, and more legendary Star Wars figures.

Major Movement Changes: Wall Kicks and Roll Landings Removed

In a recent announcement on Twitter, Epic Games revealed that Wall Kicks and Roll Landings, two advanced movement mechanics introduced in Chapter 6, Season 1, have been disabled in all official Fortnite modes. These features allowed players to perform parkour-like moves, adding a dynamic layer to the gameplay. While these mechanics remain available in Creative modes, where custom experiences are player-driven, they are now unavailable in Epic’s core game modes.

This change came as a surprise to many in the community. Despite Fortnite’s ongoing evolution to maintain balanced and competitive gameplay, players did not expect the sudden removal of these mobility options.

Mixed Reactions From the Community

Player reactions have been mixed. Some welcomed the change, suggesting that it simplifies gameplay and makes combat more consistent. However, Zero Build mode players have voiced concerns, noting that the removed mechanics were particularly helpful in a mode where building is disabled, making those movement tools essential for evasion and strategy.

On the other hand, Creative mode players were relieved to learn that their custom experiences remain unaffected. For now, Epic Games has not revealed any plans for further changes to movement systems but mentioned that feedback from this decision would inform future updates.

Still No Lightsaber Pickaxe—Fans Remain Hopeful

While the Galactic Battle season has generally been well-received, some fans are disappointed by the continued absence of a lightsaber pickaxe—a much-requested cosmetic item. Despite years of player requests to Disney and Epic Games, the lack of this feature has led some to wonder if it will ever be added.

Still, the buzz around the current season remains strong. With exciting Star Wars content and new gameplay elements, many in the Fortnite community are optimistic about what lies ahead.
