Sega reports that the game "Hyenas" has been a "challenging" project, and the company is making adjustments to its business model
Unveiled in June of the previous year, the project "Hyenas" stands as a multiplayer shooter centering on heists and extraction missions. Currently under development by Creative Assembly, this endeavor is slated for release this year across PC, Mac, as well as current and preceding generations of gaming consoles.
During the initial announcement, Creative Assembly emphasized that the game wouldn't adopt a "free-to-play" approach.
The leadership at Sega Sammy faced inquiries regarding the feasibility of delivering updates about the game, encompassing its business model and anticipated impact on earnings. These questions emerged during a Q&A session held subsequent to the company's financial results publication for the quarter earlier this month.
In response, they conveyed, "We're unable to divulge details about this game as they remain undisclosed at present. Given the intricate nature of this project, our goal is to elevate its quality by the time of launch, positioning it at the forefront of development. Moreover, we are concurrently fine-tuning its business model."
Sega unveiled a fresh gameplay trailer for "Hyenas" on a Wednesday and declared intentions to carry out a closed beta test on PC.
Gamers utilizing the Steam platform can already register for a shot at accessing the beta version, which will be available from August 31 to September 11.
Furthermore, "Hyenas" will be accessible for public gameplay for the first time during the period of August 23 to 27 at the Gamescom exhibition in Cologne.
The fundamental essence of the game revolves around five squads, each consisting of three participants, who engage in battles against both artificial intelligence and one another, all with the objective of seizing pop-culture artifacts from expansive themed space vessels replete with zero-gravity sections.
