Forza Motorsport Update 1.1 Resolves Connectivity Woes in Xbox's Latest Racing Title
The most recent addition to Xbox's first-party lineup, Forza Motorsport, has received Update 1.1, aimed at resolving a frustrating connectivity problem that has been plaguing some players. Forza Motorsport, developed by Turn 10, is the latest release in Xbox's 2023 first-party roster, following the critical success of Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush in January, the stumble of Arkane's Redfall in May, and Bethesda Game Studios' colossal space RPG, Starfield, which became the studio's fastest-selling game ever in September.
Since the launch of Forza Motorsport 7 in 2017, six years have passed. During this time, Turn 10's sister studio, Playground Games, delivered two highly acclaimed open-world racing titles, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, set in England and Mexico, respectively. Notably, Xbox's arcade-focused Forza Horizon series has garnered more acclaim than its more serious, simulation-based counterpart, Forza Motorsport, during the latter's absence. As an ongoing platform set to receive updates for years to come, Forza Motorsport aims to recapture racing enthusiasts who crave the simulation experience on Xbox.
Two weeks after its release, Forza Motorsport has undergone the standard post-launch hotfix support, with Update 1.1 primarily addressing a single persistent issue. This minor stability update, available on both consoles and PC, tackles the problem that has ensnared players in an endless loading screen when upgrading cars in the Builders Cup Intro Series.
While Update 1.1 resolves the irksome loading screen and network problem, numerous other bugs and issues have been acknowledged by Turn 10 and are currently under investigation. Forza Support highlights various PC stability problems as well as issues related to graphics, inputs, cinematics, and other aspects of the game. Despite these known issues, the game appears to be running smoothly for most players, as there is not a significant volume of complaints about the game's bugs online. Notably, Forza Motorsport's previous 1.0 update, released just a week ago, addressed a more extensive range of issues. Fans may anticipate another update in the following week, which will hopefully further address the known issues listed by Forza Support.
As Turn 10 continues to enhance its brand-new simulation racer, fans may be eager to know when Forza Motorsport will introduce new cars and tracks. Given the development time invested in Forza Motorsport, it is hoped that the studio has substantial new content ready for release. As an ongoing platform, players should anticipate regular Forza Motorsport updates at Xbox showcases over the coming years, mirroring the approach of other service-based experiences in Xbox's first-party collection, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Sea of Thieves.
