Game-Breaking Glitch in GTA Online Affects PS5 and Xbox Series X Players
A recently discovered bug in GTA Online Expanded and Enhanced is causing game freezes for players on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. This issue is particularly troublesome for players, especially newcomers, as it can disrupt the entire gaming experience. Rockstar Games has yet to address this bug, so anyone intending to create a new character in the next-gen version of GTA Online should be aware of the current situation.
Last year, Rockstar Games released the Expanded and Enhanced version of GTA Online, bringing significant graphical improvements and leveraging the enhanced capabilities of the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. This remastered version also introduced a Career Builder bonus exclusively for this iteration, providing players with a head start of $4 million in GTA currency and facilitating quick progress in the game's businesses. However, it is within this bonus that the issue lies.
Numerous GTA Online players have reported that when attempting to create a new character, the introductory process becomes unresponsive, preventing them from proceeding further. This problem appears to be linked to the Executive career tree, where players find themselves unable to move their character after entering their GTA Online business or accessing the CEO computer to continue the process. This issue is highly problematic since it not only halts progress for affected players but also renders any additional characters unable to access the monetary and career bonus, as it is considered claimed by the player.
Technically, players can still explore the game by creating another character. However, without the monetary and business bonus, they are placed at a significant disadvantage. Presently, there are no known solutions apart from avoiding the Executive career. Players are advised to contact Rockstar Support for assistance in addressing this matter. This bug has emerged recently, leading players to speculate that it likely resulted from a recent update to GTA Online. For now, players are advised to stick with existing characters or choose a different starting career in GTA Online, as those options appear unaffected by the bug.
GTA Online has experienced notable bugs and glitches throughout its history that have impacted gameplay. These have included lengthy loading times and a major exploit in the PC version that could corrupt player accounts. While most of these issues have been resolved or improved upon, it is expected that this bug will also be addressed and patched in due course. Nevertheless, it is unfortunate that newcomers to the game may encounter such a significant bug right from the start. Hopefully, Rockstar Support will promptly provide a solution to affected players, and a permanent fix will be deployed soon.
