Nintendo has no plans to release a new game console or an upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch until April 2024

This morning, Nintendo reported on the sales of the Switch console and its games, and the results were lower than expected. The total number of Switch consoles sold for the financial year ending March 31st was just under 18 million units, whereas the company had aimed to sell 21 million.

For the current financial year, until March 31st 2024, Nintendo plans to sell 15 million Switch consoles, but the company is not entirely confident that they will be able to achieve such figures. Additionally, Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, stated that the company does not plan to release a new console or an improved version of the Switch until the end of March 2024.
