Guild Esports reports £ 4.3m loss in six months
British esports organization Guild Esports announced a loss of £ 4.3m for the six-month period ending March 31, 2021.
This figure was released following the release of Guild's previously unaudited financial results. The organization named its investments in esports teams, Guild Academy, content creation and corporate infrastructure as one of the drivers of these losses.
In total, the organization reported administrative costs of £ 4.4 million. Also included in the financial results was a gain of £ 368,990 for the six months. This includes a prize pool of £ 283,625 and partnership income of over £ 58,000.
The Beckham-backed esports organization has invested heavily in 2021, and Guild Esports has established itself in a number of esports disciplines such as VALORANT, FIFA and Rocket League. In addition, the Guild Academy online esports training service was officially launched in May this year.
Note that Guild Esports' financial report became public thanks to the organization's public listing on the London Stock Exchange, where it debuted in October 2020 with a market capitalization of £ 41.2 million.
