Peking University Launches Esports Management Training Class
China's higher education institution, Peking University, has announced the launch of a three-month training class from January 16 to April 11, targeting people who want to become managers in the esports industry. This class aims to develop the best industrial esports talents.
Wenyi He, secretary of the National Sports Industry Research Foundation of Peking University, stressed that the classes do not teach people how to play games, but include lessons in strategy, philosophy, management, sports, technology and the cultural industry. In addition, eSports experts from eSports organizations and companies will be invited as teachers to the classes, while 60% of the teachers will be from Peking University.
The cost of training in this class is $ 10.5 thousand. Peking University is considered one of the two best universities in China, as well as one of the leading academic institutions in the world. It was ranked 23rd in the 2021 QS World University Ranking List.
