Galaxy Racer team up with Spanish La Liga
UAE-based esports organization Galaxy Racer has announced a partnership deal with Spanish La Liga. As part of the deal, Premier League football is set to expand its presence in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian subcontinent as the league seeks to continue its international growth and compete with the English Premier League.
It is expected that the 15-year agreement will bring the parties more than 3 billion euros. At the same time, Galaxy Racer and La Liga will own an equal percentage of the shares in the joint venture.
Paul Roy, CEO of Galaxy Racer: "The La Liga brand is strong, but its potential remains untapped among millennials and Gen Z in the Middle East."
The new collaboration reportedly stems from the results of La Liga's partnership with Relevant Sports signed in 2018 to promote the league in North America.
In the context of this collaboration, the Spanish Championship hopes to increase interaction with existing fans in the region, as well as to work with a younger audience under the age of 30. In addition, the leadership of La Liga believes that in the Middle East there are significant opportunities for the growth of the championship's popularity.
As a reminder, in January 2021, Galaxy Racer announced a partnership with the eLaliga Santander Fan Cup, the official La Liga Santander FIFA esports tournament organized internationally by La Liga and Electronic Arts. As part of that partnership, Galaxy Racer exclusively streamed the eLaliga Santander Fan Cup in Arabic on its social media platforms.
