Keith Brunswick is the new Head of Safety & Wellbeing at Guild Esports

British esports organization Guild Esports has announced the appointment of Keith Brunswick, a former player of the English football club Cambridge United, as their new Head of Safety and Wellbeing. Brunswick will reportedly be responsible for the holistic care and protection of Guild Esports esports players, academy players and content creators. His responsibilities will also include the implementation and development of specialized training programs, safety auditing and well-being.

As such, Brunswick will seek to build relationships with parents and guardians to ensure the safety of the players. As part of his activities, he will also help the organization in the development of young players. In this role, Brunswick will draw on the experience he gained during his recent stint as assistant academy manager at Cambridge United Football Club.

Cal Hurd, CEO of Guild Esports: "The work Keith is doing is revolutionizing the world of esports and pioneering how organizations can and should work with their talent. There is a real need throughout the esports industry for organizations to care about people." with whom they work, and I'm very proud of the impact Keith is already having on our structure."

Brunswick is reportedly the first head of safety and welfare in esports history. Yet other professional esports organizations already have similar roles and schemes to protect players and staff.

Interestingly, Keith Brunswick previously worked for London's Arsenal Football Club, where he ran football operations for the youth division.
