ESL Gaming expands partnership with Nielsen
Tournament organizer ESL Gaming has announced the expansion of its existing partnership with the North American company Nielsen. The updated deal will allow tracking more events per year, as well as more broadcasts on the operator's platform and channels. Events covered that affect the partnership include ESL Pro CS:GO Tour, ESL Gaming Dota 2 and the entire mobile ecosystem.
In addition, the new agreement extends the original partnership, signed in 2019, for another three years.
Tobias Vogt, Director of Commercial Operations at ESL Gaming: "Nielsen is a true market leader when it comes to sports research. The longstanding partnership has already provided our business partners with a wealth of in-depth knowledge and a wealth of standardized, reliable data on esports communities, brand activations and measurable ROI "By expanding this collaboration to include more events, we continue to innovate our ecosystems and the broader industry, and we are thrilled to continue to share our vast knowledge with our existing and future partners."
The multi-year partnership is reportedly aimed at enriching research standards in the esports space. In addition, as part of the deal, Nielsen will continue to provide current and future ESL Gaming partners with brand partnership integration assessments. Based on the Nielsen Quality Index Media methodology, ESL Gaming will be able to regularly report monetary valuations to their brand partners and advertisers.
Timo Krueger, Commercial Director of Esports and Gaming at Nielsen Esports: "We are proud that ESL trusts Nielsen as the trusted source for all their global events. We work closely with ESL to better understand their challenges and provide the best and most useful data on partner evaluation and fan/consumer behavior in the rapidly evolving entertainment industry around the world".
The collaboration focuses on four areas: media and sponsor valuation, community and fan analytics, esports audience measurement, and mobile gaming and esports. The latter includes an evaluation of ESL Gaming's recently announced Snapdragon Pro series.
