Without The International, but not empty-handed: Valve told what awaits Dota 2 this fall
Autumn is a time of big changes in Dota 2. So 2020 will be no exception. On their blog, Valve announced what changes await the MOBA and its players.
The Dota 2 developers decided to go through almost all of its aspects. We have highlighted the most important and interesting in our opinion.
New hero
Traditionally, new heroes are presented to the public at The International. This year decided to make adjustments, but fans of the Battle of the Ancients will not be left without a new character. Valve will add a new hero in November 2020.
New season
A new season kicks off this fall, which will be special this year. The fact is that the developers decided to give the players a choice: go through the calibration or leave everything as it was. This innovation will clearly bring more excitement to Dota 2.
Behavior ratings
Valve continues to work on the problematic behavior of the game's community. This time, the company decided to implement a player rating system, as it has already done in Counter-Strike and Overwatch. Now everyone can give a subjective assessment to another player.
Smurf-accounts and boosters
We also continue to work on smurf accounts and boosters. Valve promises that such players will be caught in the lobby with each other, and the company also reported 14,000 blocked accounts. Overall, Valve is happy with the performance of their system.
They will also add changes to the guild system and Dota plus. All details can be found on the official Valve blog.
