Zuckerberg reveals his optimism about the metaverse

Mark Zuckerberg, who founded the social networking site Facebook and renamed his company Meta, said that the metaverses could develop strongly in the future. In his opinion, in 10 years the virtual space will finally change many of the usual things that exist in the real world.

Zuckerberg's opinion is that now companies must invest enormous resources in the development of the metaverses, and it is thanks to this that a new industry can develop. The same conclusion was recently reached by Yat Siu, who founded Animoca Capital, which will help raise funds for the development of the metaverse and Web 3.0 technology.

Despite the fact that Meta is suffering enormous financial losses, and Mark's fortune has decreased from $126,000,000,000 to $37,000,000,000 in a year, Zuckerberg is still confident that it is worth it. He thinks someone should still be doing it:

I think that on the scale of a decade, this concept looks completely different than in the time period - the next few years - in which we are now. I remain optimistic about all the goals that we have set for ourselves.

The founder of Meta looks at this situation in an extremely positive way and in the long term. In addition, Zuckerberg believes that in the 2030s the equipment will not be what we are used to seeing now, and virtual universes may come to replace it.

If we recall the history of technology development over the past 10-20 years, then it is quite difficult to disagree with the owner of Meta, and his desire to study the metaverses can be understood. However, investors of the social networks Facebook and Instagram do not agree with this now, which, due to a significant drop in Meta shares, are suffering huge losses.

Zuckerberg couldn't get around the topic of Meta's recent layoffs. Earlier, company representatives said that 11,000 employees lost their jobs. Mark called this act a necessary sacrifice for the development of the industry. He also said that the investment will not stop there. Meta plans to invest heavily in hardware for Reality Labs, which is developing their Horizon Worlds metaverse.
