Adidas released their first NFT collection “Virtual Gear”
Adidas has unveiled its first NFT collection called "Virtual Gear". Thus, Adidas Originals will have several advantages from such a step. First, they, like many brands and celebrities, will contribute to Web 3.0 technology. Secondly, such a move will allow them to get closer to Adidas lovers who do not mind walking around virtual worlds. Thirdly, they will be able to distribute their products not only in the real world, but also in the virtual world. And fourthly, such a move by Adidas will allow them to gain more popularity and experience an unusual marketing ploy.
The first collection, as mentioned earlier, was called “Virtual Gear”. It will appear in the wallets of those users who previously became owners of the capsule collection, which was released in May 2022. This collection was in turn sent to users who own the Into The Metaverse NFT kit. Thus, in order to receive items from the Adidas NFT collection, you must be the owner of Into The Metaverse NFT and Capsule NFT.
At the same time, although Virtual Gear items will be available to users who have the Capsule NFT, at the same time, it will not be possible to have items from both collections. In order to receive the Adidas Originals Virtual Item, users need to burn the Capsule NFT to mint a random NFT item out of 16 possible.
Notwithstanding the above, users who were not owners of the Capsule NFT will also be able to obtain the Virtual Gear Collection item. To do this, they will need to go to trading platforms where non-fungible tokens are sold and purchase the thing directly.
Trade offers have already appeared on the markets. For example, at the time of writing, there are 3746 items of the Virtual Gear collection on OpenSea. The minimum cost of an item is $95, while the most expensive one was on the market with a price tag of $231,246. Adidas' first NFT collection currently sells $41,000.
Owners of special NFTs that are part of the list of partner collections will be able to dress their metaverse characters in Adidas apparel with the PFP tool, which is coming soon. The list of partner collections includes sets such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club and Inhabitants.
Notably, Adidas's Virtual Gear is multi-metaverse compatible and can adapt to the environments of various virtual worlds.
