RMR Tournaments in CS 2 May Face Cancellation by 2025, Reveals Richard Lewis

Journalist Richard Lewis recently speculated about the potential discontinuation of RMR tournaments in CS 2 by 2025. He revealed these insights during a live stream on Twitch, suggesting a pivotal shift in the competitive scene of the game.

Lewis highlighted, "From what I've gathered, RMR might be on its way out. CS is poised for a resurgence. The year 2025 is shaping up to be significant. Tournament oversaturation doesn’t seem like it will be a concern."

He attributed the potential change to the crowded schedule of tournaments. Over the next few years, a slew of events is anticipated from major organizers such as ESL, BLAST, PGL, and StarLadder, potentially leaving little room for the qualifying competitions.
