BOSS Strengthens Roster: PwnAlone Joins as Permanent Member Amid Tragic Circumstances
BOSS has finalized their roster with the addition of Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue, formerly of Party Astronauts and EG White, as announced by team coach Tommy "Axed" Ryan. This decision comes after the tragic passing of David "cynic" Polster earlier in the week. PwnAlone, a 33-year-old veteran, joins the orgless lineup permanently.
Just two weeks ago, PwnAlone declared a break from competitive play following vagrants' failure to qualify for the Americas RMR. Notably, he achieved success with EG White, securing a victory at Fragadelphia 17 in September 2022.
The experienced AWPer will have a limited timeframe to integrate into the team before the Ace NA Masters Spring, serving as the region's qualifier for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. The online tournament, featuring prominent teams like NRG, Wildcard, and Nouns, is set to commence on February 1.
Dust2.us reports that initially, BOSS encountered resistance from PGL and Valve in their request for an emergency substitute but eventually gained approval due to the exceptional circumstances surrounding cynic's passing. The Americas RMR is scheduled to take place in Monterrey, Mexico, from March 1 to 4, with 16 teams competing for five spots at the PGL Major Copenhagen.
PwnAlone expressed his commitment on Twitter, stating, "Coming off my break early to support these guys in their time of need. It's an honor that they picked me to stand in David's absence, and I hope I can make him and the team proud."
With the addition of PwnAlone, BOSS's current lineup consists of:
- Brett "brett" Rhein (United States)
- Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore (United States)
- Adam "freshie" Paterson (Canada)
- Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas (United States)
- Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue (United States)
Tommy "Axed" Ryan continues to serve as the coach for the team.
