Former Arsenal striker founded CS:GO team
Niklas Bendtner, a former professional footballer and striker for London's Arsenal, has founded his own esports organization called Prosapia Esport ApS. At the same time, the club announced the signing of its first CS:GO roster.
I have no doubt that esports will be one of the biggest sports in 10-20 years, if not the biggest. It would be foolish of me not to invest in this area in the early stages of development, when it can still be done without spending a lot of money, said Bendtner
The owner of the organization also noted that the reason for the creation of the club and the new team was the desire to develop young players in their country. According to the former football player, he fell in love with CS:GO shortly after the start of the pandemic, as this game helped him survive the period of self-isolation.
The basis of the new Prosapia Esport ApS team were young Danish players aged 15 to 19, some of whom were known for their performances on FACEIT. At the same time, Boye and Scr0b had experience playing for the Fjerritslev Gymnasium team, with which they became the winners of Road to Astralis Nexus 2021. Another player who had experience of appearing on HLTV until that time is tOPZ - a 19-year-old Dane once played for the MASONIC team.
The debut of the Danish team will take place within the framework of POWER League Season 21, which will start on September 12th. In addition to Prosapia Esport ApS, the youth rosters of Astralis and Copenhagen Flames, as well as Tricked and a number of other Danish teams, will take part in the championship with a prize pool of $10,000.
