To begin with, I wanted to say that this year was one big disappointment for me. It was not only the results that upset me, but also how I dealt with all these failures myself. I want to end each year with the feeling that you were able to grow, become better, show some kind of progress. I have always felt that I was not only getting stronger as a player, but also doing a lot of work on myself mentally. So, I want to apologize to my teammates, Liquid, my fans and the community for not being able to accomplish what you or I myself expected of me.

EliGE also spoke about the reasons for the decline and the unsatisfactory results of the team.

Now I wanted to talk a little about why this regression happened. Since the end of 2020, I spoke with the team, having looked at the schedule, and immediately realized that it would be very difficult for me. We now had the busiest travel schedule ever, with a total of about 240 days in Europe. Most of these travel periods were long, with long periods of time ending in months away from home. It left me almost no time to mentally reboot or spend time with friends or family at home, and I felt very sad that I didn’t have a strong enough relationship with them.

The esportsman singled out his former teammates, in particular, FalleN, from whom he took over a lot.

It has been a year with many ups and downs, and in hindsight, it was the most difficult year of my professional career. I wish I could do better and I would like to say that I was a positive psychological factor for my teammates during this. However, I cannot say this, and it was a great disappointment for me that I could not rise to this level. I've learned a lot over the year, especially from FalleN. He maintained a positive attitude and encouraged the team, no matter what really happened. Gabriel is the exemplary teammate that I want to be for the team in the future.

In the end, EliGE expressed his opinion about his future and the prospects of the team in the new season.

It's no secret that the team environment was not ideal throughout the year, and I definitely took a lot of part in it. I've learned a lot in the past year from the experience of working in a team and how I could have dealt with it better. In 2022, I'm going to be back on track and making it our most successful year ever. I know that this year a great burden of responsibility will fall on my shoulders. This is something that I am well aware of and I am going to do my best to be the best player and teammate I can be inside and outside the game.

Recall that the 24-year-old American esportsman has been playing for Team Liquid since March 2015. Last season, the North American team won only two championships: cs_summit 8 and BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2021.
