BIG, FURIA and Heroic become ESL partners
BIG, FURIA and Heroic become new partners of ESL, concluding the so-called Louvre agreement with the tournament organizer. While FURIA and BIG immediately become ESL partners, the agreement with Heroic will take effect in the second half of 2022. This is due to the recent ESIC investigation into the players and the organization itself, who were suspected of complicity in the use of the HUNDEN coaching bug. The press release says that this will give Heroic enough time for the new leadership to adequately assess the results of the investigation and implement its new strategies and standards.
It is noted that the cost of applications from three organizations to conclude an agreement amounted to almost $ 20 million.
By entering into the partnership, the three organizations will receive a permanent seat in the ESL Pro League, as well as a share of the League's profits, as well as in other ESL Pro Tour competitions, which also provide a certain number of seats for participating teams that have signed the Louvre agreement.
“These teams and their investors have recognized the value of what we are building with ESL Pro League. The fact that they have made such significant contributions (with financial and non-financial components) shows that they see real sustainable management and growing value that puts us on a par with other top tier investment opportunities in esports,"said Alex Inglot, Commissioner for the ESL Pro League.
The three organizations joined twelve other permanent members who signed the agreement back in February 2020. Note that another partner was the 100 Thienes organization before the Los Angeles-based organization left the discipline late last year.
According to the press release, the new organizations that have entered into the agreement have made both financial (almost $ 20 million in total) and non-financial commitments to ESL in order to take their place among the participants.
From now on, the composition of ESL partners is as follows:Astralis, BIG, Complexity, ENCE, Evil Geniuses, FaZe, fnatic, FURIA, G2, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, NIP, Liquid, Vitality, Heroic (from the second half of 2022).
