Riot Games spoke about the future of the punishment system
Riot Games has told players about future changes to the punishment system for unwanted behavior during matches. In particular, the development team spoke about the upcoming updates 2.04 and 2.05, which will directly affect the system of punishment for guilty players.
Already in update 2.04, improved AFK detection will be added to the game. At the same time, Riot Games did not share the details of the upcoming updates, leaving the players waiting for specific facts. In addition, the developers have completely redesigned the AFK punishment system.
Instead of applying punishments on a general basis "after the fact", the system will track player behavior for some time. As a result, the player will not be penalized as a result of the Internet disconnection, however, if abuses are noticed, punishment cannot be avoided. Moreover, the types of punishment will depend on various factors.
Possible types of punishment:
- Warnings.
- Expulsion for games in which AFK is abused.
- Minor downgrade of Ranked Play for leaving before the start of the match.
- Downgrade of ranked play for AFK (patch 2.03).
- Additional queuing restrictions.
- Blocking access to ranked games.
- Ban (for multiple abuse).
Not spared and insults in the game chat. Starting with patch 2.04, text moderation will be added to the game for more than 11 languages. In addition, the developers have changed the system of penalties for inappropriate behavior in the text chat. The system now takes into account more nuances, and penalties are increased both by frequency and by the severity of violations.
Possible types of punishment:
- Warnings.
- Block text chat.
- Queue restrictions.
- Game blocking.
Also in the upcoming 2.05 update, Riot Games plans to add a complaint response system. Players will receive reports on the results of their complaints.
Note that the above detection methods and types of punishments will also be applied for violations in voice chat.
