NVIDIA Special Address at CES 2024
SUMMARY:
NVIDIA Unleashes a Wave of Innovation: AI Revolution, Gaming Powerhouses, and Generative Marvels Take Center Stage at CES!

This week, the AI revolution has come full circle, placing cutting-edge tools in the hands of gamers and content creators. The unveiling of generative AI models for realistic characters in games and applications, along with new GPUs designed for gamers and creators, took center stage in a comprehensive announcement preceding the CES trade show in Las Vegas.

NVIDIA's Senior Vice President for GeForce, Jeff Fisher, highlighted the company's pivotal role in the growing field of generative AI, particularly with the widespread adoption of RTX GPUs, boasting over 100 million units shipped. These GPUs have played a crucial role in advancing generative AI technologies, exemplified by innovations like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion.

Fisher discussed the TensorRT-LLM library for Windows released in October, accelerating large language models such as Llama 2 and Mistral up to 5x on RTX PCs. The forthcoming Chat with RTX playground, set to release later this month, will enable enthusiasts to connect RTX-accelerated language models to their own data, utilizing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for improved accuracy and reliability.

NVIDIA introduced the Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) Microservices, featuring generative AI models for digital avatars. ACE utilizes cloud or local PC-based AI models to bring avatars to life. ACE's capabilities were demonstrated in a Convai demo, showcasing how a player's voice input is processed through automatic speech recognition, language models, text-to-speech, and animation models to create a dynamic character within a game scene.

Getty Images is leveraging generative AI through iStock, releasing a genAI service built on NVIDIA Picasso, empowering designers and marketers to create concept imagery and social media content. The service, available on istock.com, utilizes an AI model trained on Getty Images' extensive catalog.

NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series, featuring GPUs with enhanced gaming and generative AI performance. The RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER offer improved capabilities, including faster ray tracing, enhanced DLSS Frame Generation, and superior performance for video and image generation.

The RTX Remix Open Beta, launching on January 22, allows modders to remaster classic games with ray tracing, DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and generative AI texture tools. Twitch and NVIDIA are collaborating to introduce Enhanced Broadcasting, enabling streamers to transmit up to three concurrent streams at different resolutions and quality levels.

NVIDIA announced a "new wave" of AI-ready RTX laptops from major manufacturers, emphasizing the rapid growth of RTX laptops as the fastest-growing platform. With over 10 billion game mods downloaded annually, the RTX Remix app is set to transform classic games with enhanced graphics and textures.

NVIDIA's collaboration with Activision and Blizzard continues to grow, with more than 500 games and apps now utilizing NVIDIA RTX technology. Additionally, AI-accelerated DLSS 3 will be featured in Pax Dei, a new massively multiplayer online game launching this spring.

GeForce NOW, NVIDIA's cloud gaming service, will introduce Day Pass membership options in February, offering priority access to servers and benefits like NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and NVIDIA Reflex. Cloud G-SYNC technology is also set to enhance the gaming experience on GeForce NOW.
