We’re delighted to have Deborah Mensah-Bonsu joining us at AGW23!

@debembe is the Founder of dmb crew and its flagship initiative Games for Good, which focuses on helping studios and industry harness games for social impact. She was a driving force behind the Green Mobile Game Jam which reached more than 100 Million gamers about climate change, and consults for UN Environment's Playing for the Planet.

She’s a media professional with more than a decade of experience, first as a print and tv journalist and then as a producer and content guru in games at Xbox and Space Ape.
Deborah is a Special Effect Ambassador, was named one of the Top 100 Women in Games in 2019, winner of the MCV Career Mentor of the Year Award, and nominated for the h100 Awards: Games in 2018. She has been a speaker at conferences around the world including Gamescom, devcom, Twitchcon, Unity for Humanity, Insomnia, ESI, Pax East PGC and more.
We’re excited to hear Deborah sharing her insights on the panel: Every Job is a Climate Job on the 30th Nov at Africa Games Week 2023.

Meet the delegates speaking at AGW23

Eniola is a dynamic and visionary leader, renowned for her innate ability to identify opportunities, which has driven multiple business successes over the past 13 years.

She is the current CEO and Co-founder of Gamr, a venture-backed Gaming and esports Startup that powers competitive play, allows professional & casual gamers to monetize their skills, discover and organize tournaments, build thriving communities, and enhance viewership through its platform.
Kunmi has a rich background in sports development and business management with dynamic experience in sports business oversight, hands-on business operations and driving excellent project management.
Kunmi is an avid lover of gaming and esports, aiding in forming tournament platforms and participating in esports associations in Nigeria. All of his experience culminating in co-founding Gamr. Kunmi’s main role is the Chief of Operations as well as executing technical operations inclusive of tournament organization, driving strategic partnerships and cross-functional leadership.

Charly Harbord, the Director of Partnerships for Global Game Jam will be joining us at AGW23

Taking part in the panel: Prototyping as Part of the Production Process, we look forward to hearing her insights!

Charly holds a degree in Mandarin and Chinese Culture, which she gained whilst living in China. She holds a Masters in International Education from the University of Dundee and is in the final stages of a PhD in Games and Arts, focused on ‘The Co-Design of Role-Playing Games for the Enhancement of Indigenous/Second Languages’. Charly founded the Kilted Otter Initiative, a cultural heritage and language research-based game jam. As well as being the Game Designer in Residence for Women in Games, she is also the Women in Games Twitch Manager.
She has several peer-reviewed publications on the use of games for language education including a chapter in the newly released book ‘Digital Games and Language Learning: Theory, Development and Implementation’. Charly has presented her research at several international industry and academic conferences including GDC, Devcom and DiGRA. Also having given three keynote speeches, the most prestigious of which was the (United Nations) ONU Mujeres Women in Games Mexico Jam Conference in December 2020.

We're glad to announce Ben Myres will be joining us at AGW23!

Ben is the CEO and Creative Director of Nyamakop, the studio behind Semblance, released in 2018, which became the 1st African-made game to be released on a Nintendo console.

With experience as the Program Manager for A MAZE, Johannesburg, as well as lecturing game design at Wits University, he brings a unique mix of creativity and experience in every aspect of game development. He has been included on Mail and Guardian's 'Top 200 Young South Africans', Design Indaba's 'Emerging Creatives', and Forbes Africa's '30 under 30' lists for his work.
We look forward to having Ben at Africa Games Week 2023!
