Blizzard plans to introduce the first season of Diablo 4 within this week
The studio will announce the launch of the first season of the game during a live stream by the developers on July 6th at 11:00 PT/ 14:00 ET/ 19:00 GMT.
Game Director Joseph Piepiora and Lead Producer Timothy Ismay will also discuss planned updates that will improve the game's quality.
The stream will begin with a detailed look at the new class that will be introduced in Diablo Immortal in mid-July and will conclude with a live Q&A session where developers will answer players' questions.
Diablo 4 seasons will be released quarterly, adding new features, quests, items, and balance changes. Players will need to complete the main campaign to participate in the seasons. Blizzard previously announced that Season 1 will start "in mid or late July."
Players will have access to the "Season Journey" screen, which will provide information about new content and explain the goals that need to be achieved to obtain seasonal rewards.
Each season will include a "Battle Pass" consisting of 27 free levels and 63 premium levels. The free levels will contain cosmetic items and "Burning Embers" (which can be spent on Season Blessings that provide experience, gold, or shards bonuses).
The premium levels "will not grant gameplay power" but will offer unique cosmetic items for that season as well as platinum, according to Blizzard.
Platinum is a premium in-game currency that can be purchased with real money. It can be spent in the in-game store to acquire new cosmetic items or used to purchase future Battle Passes.
