Dota 2 has a matchmaking update

On the evening of June 6, Valve released another update for the Dota 2 esports discipline. Unlike regular patches, where the rework concerns items, skills, heroes, balance, and map elements, this time the developers have made changes to the matchmaking system.
Valve commented on the update as follows:
We believe that Dota is best played with a group of friends. To encourage this style of play, we're introducing a few experimental changes with today's patch to improve the overall match quality of these games.
The following adjustments have been made to matchmaking:
- So full groups of 5 can now play against any relevant team, it is no longer necessary to play against the same full group in ranked mode. For example, one team may have a group of 5 players, and another group of 3 and 2 players.
- Matchmaking has been optimized, which should speed up the search for a full group game.
- All members of a full group can now chat “gg” to surrender in a match lasting more than 30 minutes, after which the same 10 second countdown will start and end the match as in professional games. Such an action will be counted as a loss.
Recall that the latest actual gameplay update for Dota 2 is patch 7.31, which was released in early June.
